DS(GS-III) handles all the matters relating to Territorial Army; Deployment of Army for providing aid to civil administration under ‘Instructions on Aid to Civil Authority by the Armed Forces’; Army assistance in connection with making of films/documentaries/biopic/TV serials etc.; All matters relating Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR); Crisis Management and Disaster Management; Operational matters related to Armed Forces Films and Photo Division (AFFPD); Appointment of Defence Attaches/Military Attaches of Army wing; Grant of security clearances relating to Aerial survey, Ground Survey; Issue of Restricted Maps; Service matters related to Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ civilian posts at Command , Station HQs, Area HQs, etc; Administrative matters relating to four mountaineering institutions viz. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling; Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Water Sports, Pahalgam, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering; Uttarkashi and NIMAS, Dirang.
